Info meetings are designed for all levels of who want to learn more about DetermiNation and ask questions before joining. Each meeting will include general information about our programs, our training partner In-Flight Runnings run coaching philosophy and tips for those training for their first marathon or half marathon. We also review what we have planned for our entire 2011-12 training season. The program ends with a Q & A session and a chance to register on the spot if you want to get started. Early training officially starts for Houston on May 28, 2011.

WHAT IS DETERMINATION
:
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. DetermiNation is the American Cancer Society's endurance program that will train you for the Houston Marathon and half-marathon while you fundraise to fight cancer.

HOW IT WORKS: Essentially, friends and family of participants support their efforts to compete in an event by making donations in their name. The American Cancer Society has always been involved with the Houston Marathon as a charity of choice for people contribute to, but 2012 will be the first year that Determination will providing training for Houston and a higher commitment of fundraising in the community. We are also training runners for the Galveston Mardi Gras Marathon, if you want a smaller, more intimate event.

TRAINING
A 35 week training program will begin May 28th and cumulate in January with the Houston Marathon or Half Marathon. Our group training partner is In-Flight Running. Owners Michael Merlino and Duval Ruiz have a combined 41 years in fitness training. Runners of all levels are welcome – if you are a first timer seeing what you can do or an experienced runner looking to increase speed, this program will get you to the finish line.

- Encouragement, event dates, educational seminar dates, encouragement, tips and info can always be found on our blog:
