Save the Dates!

HAPPY HOUR to celebrate Marathon Lottery Day
JOIN US  WEDNESDAY, JUN 1st at 6 p.m. FOR HAPPY HOUR AT CEDAR CREEK!
Come visit and drink with us, and celebrate that if you become a DetermiNation Runner, the lottery will not effect you. Sign up to run with us and you have a guaranteed entry - as long as you meet your commitment of $1,250. We will help you, and you have 8 months to do it.
Think about it - $1,250 is in 8 months is:

    - about $157 a MONTH (probably less than your cable bill, definitely less than your electric bill)
    - less than $40 a week
(skip dinner and drinks out on Friday, you will be prepped for your Saturday
morning long runs which will make you lean and mean - you can go out Saturday night!
   - an estimated $5.23 a DAY (Can you say grande latte?)
It is not as hard as you think. So if you want to train with us and make a difference in the fight against cancer, lets talk about it! All the information is here on the blog and you can contact me at any time.

AS A BONUS: You will have a fundraising page on determinationhouston.org where you can tell people about why you are running, the progress you are making, how far your runs are, etc. If you do that on Facebook it is just bragging. Don't be THAT guy. On your fundraising site people applaud your efforts because you are supporting a great cause, and they will show their support by pledging funds through you.

We have 51 Houston marathon spots and 50 half spots. 20 of the marathon spots are already taken, and we are first come, first served. So call me with any questions and join us today!

Our first training will be Saturday, May 28th at 6 a.m. in Memorial Park.  If you just want to come out for a run to see what it is all about please let me know. Happy to have you give it a test run.

Follow the Houston DetermiNation Blog

Please forward to anyone you think may have an interest in DetermiNation and the Houston Marathon - THANK YOU!
(p.s. Our Galveston Marathon Web site will be up this month so we will start recruiting or them as well - I know that is the one Marla and I plan on participating in!)

We know it is a long way until the Houston Marathon and Half Marathon, but it will be here sooner than you think. To keep up with information about our Saturday training runs, fundraising events, fundraising workshops, training clinics, happy hours and other DetermiNation information please follow us on our blog: http://determinationhouston.blogspot.com
The blog will help you learn what we are all about on an ongoing basis. And of course you are welcome to contact me with any information you need.

We prefer you start early to get the full benefits of the program, but understand if you are not ready to decide. We do have a limited number of Marathon entries - 50 Full and 50 Half - and we have already filled 20 marathon spots! We will accept new runners into August but do not guarantee we will not run out, and the sooner you start with us the sooner you can make a difference.

Thank you and I hope you will RUN for a REASON!
